-Software Patents</a> that will be voted on at the
-<a href="http://www.europarl.eu.int/">European Parliament</a> on
-September 25<sup>th</sup>, we have decided to protest.</p>

-<p>When Software Patents are legalised in Europe, several trivial
-patents such as progress bars, storing music, monitoring network hosts
-etc. will be legal and enforceable. This will be the death for many
-small and medium sized enterprises that don't maintain large patent
-pools like IBM and Microsoft. This would also hurt the Free Software
-movement.</p>
