<headline>New release: 1.4.0</headline>

<p>A new release of the system and kernel log daemon aka sysklogd has
been released as of today.  It was uploaded to metalab.unc.edu
(formerly known of sunsite.unc.edu).

<p>This version is the final culmination of a long time period for all
1.3-x releases.  Additionally it contains a whole bunch of patches and
small improvements as well as a security update from people like Solar
Designer, Daniel Jacobowitz, Keith Owens, Olaf Kirch and Martin
Schulze.
