<p>Due to license concerns (see <a
href="http://lists.infodrom.org/infodrom-newmail/2004/0000.html">mail</a>)
I have decided to start a rewrite of <code>newmail</code> instead of
trying to get the Elm developers to alter the license to be compatible
with the <a href="http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html">GNU
GPL</a>.</p>

<p>This release is an important milestone and reflects more or less
the same state the old package based on Elm source had.  The old
package ran on more older Unix systems though.</p>

<p>Support for different character encodings is missing and will have
to be added until the 0.4 release.  Multiline subject lines are not
supported either, but they are very rare anyway.</p>
